Linux Command Reference

The Linux mtools command is used to display the commands supported by mtools.

mtools is a utility program for MS-DOS file systems that can simulate many MS-DOS commands. These commands are all symbolic links of mtools, so they share some common features.

Syntax

mtools

Parameter Description：

• -a When long file names are duplicated, automatically change the long file name of the target file.
• -A When short file names are duplicated but long file names differ, automatically change the short file name of the target file.
• -o When long file names are duplicated, overwrite the existing file with the target file.
• -O When short file names are duplicated but long file names differ, overwrite the existing file with the target file.
• -r When long file names are duplicated, prompt the user to change the long file name of the target file.
• -R When short file names are duplicated but long file names differ, prompt the user to change the short file name of the target file.
• -s When long file names are duplicated, skip processing the target file.
• -S When short file names are duplicated but long file names differ, skip processing the target file.
• -v Display detailed information during execution.
• -V Display version information.

Examples

Display the MS-DOS commands supported by the mtools package.

Simply type mtools at the command prompt to display the MS-DOS commands it supports, as shown below:

$ mtools #显示所支持的MS-DOS命令

mattrib, mbadblocks, mcat, mcd, mclasserase, mcopy, mdel, mdeltree
