Linux mread command

Linux Command Reference

The Linux mread command is used to copy MS-DOS files into a Linux/Unix directory.

mread is an mtools tool command that can copy MS-DOS files to the Linux file system. This command is no longer commonly used; mcopy is generally used instead.

Syntax

mread [MS-DOS文件...][Linux文件或目录]

Parameter description:

• [MS-DOS files...]: The DOS source file or directory path for the operation.
• [Linux file or directory]: The Linux target file or directory path after the operation.

Examples

Use the mread command to copy all contents of drive "a:\" to the current working directory. Enter the following command:

$ mread a:\* ./     #将a盘上的所有文件复制到当前工作目录 

Before executing this command, you can use the mdir command to view the original directory structure. After executing mread, you can use the ls command to view the copied file structure again. The result is as follows:

$ mdir -/ a:\*      #查看a盘中的文件  
Volume in drive A has no label          #加载信息  
Volume Serial Number is 13D2~055C  
Directory for A:/                   #以下为目录信息  
./TEST <DIR> 2011-08-23 16:59         
#显示格式为文件名，目录大小，修改时间  
AUTORUN.INF 265 2011-08-23 16:53
