ASP.NET Web Forms - Web Server Controls
Web server controls are special ASP.NET tags that can be understood by the server.
Web Server Controls
Like HTML server controls, Web server controls are also created on the server, and they likewise require the runat="server" attribute to take effect. However, Web server controls do not need to map to any existing HTML elements; they can represent more complex elements.
The syntax for creating Web server controls is:

| Literal | Displays programmable static content (does not allow you to apply styles to its content) |
| Panel | Provides a container for other controls |
| PlaceHolder | Reserves space for controls added by code |
| RadioButton | Creates a radio button |
| RadioButtonList | Creates a radio button group |
| BulletedList | Creates a list in bullet format |
| Repeater | Displays a repeated list of items bound to the control |
| Style | Sets the style of a control |
| Table | Creates a table |
| TableCell | Creates a table cell |
| TableRow | Creates a table row |
| TextBox | Creates a text box |
| Xml | Displays the result of an XML file or XSL transformation |
