The Linux quotacheck command is used to check disk space usage and limits.

Execute the quotacheck command to scan the partitions mounted on the system, and generate quota.user and quota.group files in the root directory of each partition's file system to set disk space limits for users and groups.

Syntax

quotacheck [-adgRuv][文件系统...]

Options:

  • -a Scan the partitions that have quota settings added in the /etc/fstab file.
  • -d Display the command execution process in detail, for troubleshooting or understanding how the program executes.
  • -g When scanning disk space, count the number of directories and files occupied by each group ID.
  • -R Exclude the partition where the root directory is located.
  • -u When scanning disk space, count the number of directories and files occupied by each user ID.
  • -v Display the command execution process.
