Linux Command Reference

The Linux gitps command is used to report process status.

gitps (GNU interactive tools process status) is a command used to report and manage process execution. Basically, it reports and manages processes through the ps command. It can also interrupt and delete unnecessary processes at any time via the gitps command. Because the gitps command executes the ps command, its parameters are quite similar to those of the ps command.

Syntax

gitps [acefgjlnrsSTuvwxX][p <程序识别码>][t <终端机编号>][U <帐号名称>]

Parameter Description：

• a Display all processes under the current terminal, including processes of other users.
• c When listing processes, display the true command name of each process, without including the path, parameters, or resident service indicators.
• e When listing processes, display the environment variables used by each process.
• f Use ASCII characters to display a tree structure showing the relationships between processes.
• g Display all processes under the current terminal, including processes of group leaders.
• j Use job control format to display process status.
• l Use long format to display process status.
• n Represent the USER and WCHAN fields with numbers.
• p<process ID> Specify the process ID and list the status of that process.
• r Only list processes that are currently running on the current terminal.
• s Display process status in signal format.
• S When listing processes, include information about interrupted child processes.
• t<terminal number> Specify the terminal number and list the status of processes belonging to that terminal.
• T Display all processes under the current terminal.
• u Display process status in a user-oriented format.
• U<account name> List the status of processes belonging to the specified user.
• v Display process status in virtual memory format.
• w Display process status in wide format.
• x Display all processes, not distinguished by terminal.
• X Use the old-style Linux i386 login format to display process status.
