Linux Command Collection

Linux dmesg (full English name: display message) command is used to display boot information.

The kernel stores boot information in a ring buffer. If you miss the information during boot, you can use dmesg to view it. Boot information is also saved in a file named dmesg in the /var/log directory.

Syntax

dmesg [-cn][-s <缓冲区大小>]

Parameter Description：

• -c Display the information, then clear the contents of the ring buffer.
• -s<buffer size> Preset to 8196, exactly the size of the ring buffer.
• -n Set the level of recorded information.
