Notes:IE 8 or earlier versions of IE browsers do not support the <rt> tag.

Definition and Usage

The <rt> tag defines an explanation or pronunciation of characters (Chinese transliteration or characters).

Use the <rt> tag with<ruby>and<rp>Use the tag together:
The <ruby> element is composed of one or more characters requiring an explanation/pronunciation and an <rt> element that provides this information, plus an optional <rp> element that defines the content to be displayed when the browser does not support the "ruby" element.

Differences between HTML 4.01 and HTML5

The <rt> tag is new in HTML5.
