Definition and Usage
The status property sets or returns the text in the window's status bar.
Syntax
window.status
Browser Support
Note:The status property does not work properly in IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari by default. To allow scripts to change the status bar text, the user must set the configuration screen preference dom.disable_window_status_change to false. (Or in Firefox: "Tools - Options - Content - Enable JavaScript / 'Advanced' - Allow scripts to change status bar text").
