Many web application developers don't understand operations knowledge. Perhaps in their view, web developers only need to do language coding well and handle add, delete, modify, and query operations. Even some web programmers I have interviewed are often only familiar with scripting languages, but know very little about operations.
If you only develop a user system for a few hundred people, you don't need to understand operations knowledge. But if you want to build a system with millions of visits, then if you don't understand operations, you won't be able to withstand such high concurrency.
