Even if you don't want to become a professional coder, many jobs today still require some basic technical knowledge.

Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of the US social networking site Facebook, who agrees with this trend, recently offered some suggestions for high school students' future development.

On Wednesday, Zuckerberg made a surprise visit to Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California, USA. According to local media Almanac News, Zuckerberg told students that if they want more job security in the future, they should master technical knowledge in certain areas.

Rosie Valencia, a sophomore at Sequoia High School who previously interned at Facebook, got the chance to interview Zuckerberg. One of the questions was: "Why do you think science and technology are important for us students?"

Although the audience that day was all teenagers, Zuckerberg still gave some high-level advice.

Zuckerberg said: "The simplest answer is that all future jobs will be related to technology." He also said: "From an economic perspective, it is easy to feel that when you grow up, the world will be the same as it is now, and the types of jobs will be no different from those of your parents' generation. However, from a historical perspective, this is clearly wrong. The world is evolving, and the types of work are changing."

Zuckerberg suggested: "If you want better job opportunities and higher income in the future, you must become technically proficient, know some basic computer operation knowledge and basic programming skills. Even if these are not your primary subjects, they will play a crucial role in your future choices and realizing your ambitions."

So, kids, you'd better learn some programming knowledge now; it will be useful when you write your resume later.
